This is an extremely rare find! We have here an early 1950s highly collectible American Character Sweet Sue Walker vintage doll. I have only seen one other American Character Sweet Sue in this rare dress and that years ago in the Theriault Dolls catalog. That doll was not even mint in the box and not in the condition as this darling and she sold at auction for $600 because she is rarely found. She has the most gorgeous face and perfect beautiful makeup. Her clothing is just beautiful and in the same condition as the day she was born. She has gorgeous blue/green sleep eyes with all of her lashes and well defined lower lashes. Her subtle eyeshadow really brings out the color of her eyes. As you can see in the close-ups her makeup is perfect and outstanding. Her long ringlet strawberry blond hair is in its original set although a little poofing up in the back is needed from sitting in her box all these years but will probably bounce back once she is up for display out of her box. She even has her original hair bow. Speaking of displaying her we are also including a beautiful doll stand with her! Her 40s to very early 50s style inspired dress is made out of taffeta and is a very dark navy blue and white striped pattern. The front bodice inset is white pique with white lace trim at the neckline. Underneath the dress as shown in one of the photos she wears a white crinoline petticoat with a navy organdy ruffle. Her shoes are navy suede, in perfect condition with matching socks. Sweet Sue even has her original hang tag on her wrist as shown in the photos which reads Sweet Sue Walker, An American Character Doll. She is a walking doll and all seems to work find and she is still strung tight and will not need to be restrung. Sometimes even a mint in the box dolls stringing will loosen up but this darling dolls is just fine. The box is in good condition with a few problems and is fragile but that is expected after all these many years. It is so great that a cardboard box can even last this long! She even has her original plastic covering. We promise that you will not be disappointed with this very rare Sweet Sue.
